History of Šenkýř Motorsport Racing Team

 

The Šenkýř Motorsport Racing Team was founded in 1997 and is the successor to the racing team of Jan Šenkýř, the European Champion in circuit racing in 1981.

Over the fifteen years of its existence, the team has worked its way up to the very top of Czech motorsports. In 2002–2003, it won its first two titles of Czech Champion in hillclimbing with a BMW M3. The highlight of its hillclimbing activities was winning two titles of European Champion in the absolute ranking of category 1 touring cars in 2003–2004.

After defending the European hillclimbing title, the team's activities expanded again to include circuit racing, where the team immediately worked its way up to the absolute top and between 2005 and 2014, it won several titles of Czech and Slovak Champion and several victories in the FIA ​​Central European Zone Championship series. The team currently operates several BMW M3 E36, M3 E46, M3 E92 GTR, BMW Z4 GT3 and BMW M6 GT3 racing cars.

New for the 2018 racing season will be the entry of the BMW M6 GT3 in several races of the Spanish International GT Open Championship.
